Our History

Established under the Workforce Investment Act, and reauthorized in the Workforce Innovation and Opportunities Act (WIOA) of 2014, American Job Centers (AJC) offer training referrals, career counseling, job listings, and similar employment-related services.

The WIOA is designed to help job seekers access employment, education, training, and support services to succeed in the labor market and to match employers with the skilled workers they need to compete in the global economy.

The WIOA increased the quality and accessibility of services that job seekers and employers receive at their local AJC.

Today, local AJCs serve as a one-stop solution for workers that need employment or training services and employers that need qualified workers in their area.
